Enough was enough, War was upon the Republic whether we wanted it or not. Vesper would fight till the bitter end.
On the lead up to the final meeting with Cove, Vesper gathered together for a war council to discuss options and strategy.
On the day of the meeting in the neutral city of Trinsic, Vesparian forces arrived early to set up an escape route. Chancellor and Commander Escaflowne sat with his one guard waiting for Cove to arrive. The Baron arrived in his typical fashion, bringing his whole army with him to a meeting. After a few exchange of words, Escaflowne threw down an official declaration of war and swiftly exited to the ship waiting nearby to return the Vesparians to Vesper.
Once back in Vesper, our forces quickly took defensive positions at the Swaggers. They knew the Baron would not waste such an opportunity to strike with all those troops on hand. Sure enough the Covian army with the aid of a detachment of Yewish soldiers appeared on our doorstep.
Heavily outnumbered the Vesparians stood their ground and fought till the end but twas an unwinnable scenario. Before leaving. Cove proceeded to firebomb the two Redguard Destroyers the RVS Paps Chuck and the RVS Momo. But they didn't stop there and decided to firebomb the Vesper Trading Company civilian vessel the Wrath of Scalis.
Enraged and wanting revenge, Vesper launched a counter attack into Cove. The troops managed to capture a Covian and use her as a hostage; but it seems they care little for their own troops. The Cove forces opened fire on the Vesper troops seconds after they arrived in view. After suffering another swift defeat our troops returned home to rest up for the bloody war to come.
