Rimeny De Blaze and Escaflowne like this

Upon waking, I found a raven at my window with a letter from Escaflowne. Here I thought he needed my assistance, but it was just telling me to turn up to town as soon as possible. When getting there, He and Rimeny started me on my trials to become an Elite. This was something I had been waiting for, for many months. About time those lazy arses got up to it.
The first task was simply a combat challenge. I figured I would be lighting someone on fire, but no, It was giant snake people. I had to run through them, grab a thing Esca told me to grab, and run back to the Captain like a brass balled lunatic! I thought to myself, "Piper, you're getting too old for this crap". But I NEVER turn down a challenge.
Passing the first Task, I decided to go ahead and go about my second. I went to the shrine and meditated as was told to do. Apparently my run with the Ophidians caught up with me and I fell asleep at the shrine. I remember dreaming during my time there. I dreamed of my life before Vesper, the horrible nightmare my life was before. Being infected with the blackrock I found as a child, the horrible years of torment i withstood from the townfolk, the horrors I face on the Moonglow docks. Down to the Curse of that cottage. Why? i thought. Why was I dreaming of this now? Then I saw a light at the end of it, as if it was showing me a way to escape the curse that I inflicted upon myself all those years ago. Then like that, it was over and I jolted awake. Was this a higher power telling me how to break my curse? Was it Greenie watching out for me? Time will soon tell.
Returning to Vesper, Renewed and enlightened. A more upbeat spirit, I contacted Esca to complete my third task.
He took me to an Island in the middle of Vesper, told me I must withstand any climate and this one would be a dangerous test. I laugh in the face of danger everyday, so of course I went into it never doubting my resolve. When he told me to strip down to nothing but a shirt and kilt and my axe, I honestly thought the Bearman lost his mind. I never question him, well I do question SOME of his insane plots but I knew he wouldn't let me just die. Doing as I was told, I stripped down and entered the sparkly gate into the most frigged weather I ever stepped foot in. My first reaction was to scream as bare foot touched snow. Curse Esca's name and swear to flame strike him upon return! Twenty minutes of this? I could do this. I quickly, and with a shaking body, gathered lumber from the surrounding trees, made kindling and lit a fire the old fashioned way because someone, decided to take my Reagents to magically create a fire.Farking furboi. I stayed as close to the fire as possible without being burned, my limbs going numb, my lips turning blue. I did the only thing I could think of and that was to Meditate for the time I was in the cold. It lowered my heart beat, my body stayed calm. It kept me alive long enough to get out of there alive. When the time was up, I did not hesitate to fall out of that gods forsaken wasteland of cold and back into the warmth of Vesper. Esca quickly gave me back all of my things, to get warm fast I had to flame strike myself. Out of pure spite and anger I may or may not have given Esca a good flaming as well...
I did it! I completed The Last Bridge of Vesper Trial. If anyone asks me to return to that Iceland again I will unleash unholy hell upon their souls...
